Current Privatization Programs

Privatization program is a fast moving process. Preparations are now on track to dispose off SOES to the private investors. Non-financial public enterprises in the country has been categorized into seven sectors, namely –

    (i)     Industry
    (ii)    Power, gas and water,
    (iii)   Transport and Communication,
    (iv)   Trade,
    (v)    Agriculture,
    (vi)   Construction and,
    (vii)  Services.

Presently, 22 SOEs have been included in the Commission’s current programs to get them disposed off. Below is its list:-

     2.    Salatin Syndicate, Dhaka (20% Share), Kishoreganj;
     3.    Procurement & Sales Organization, Kaptai, Rangamati;
     4.    Lumber Processing Complex, Kaptai, Rangamati;
     5.    Karnafuli Timber Extruction Unit, Kaptai, Rangamati;
     6.    Arco Industries Ltd., Chittagong (11.5%);
     7.    SAF Industries Ltd., Noapara, Jessore (13.63%);
     8.    Rangamati Textile Mills Ltd., Ghagra, Rangamati;
     9.   Tangail Cotton Mills Ltd., Gorai, Tangail;
